At 10:48 AM this morning, Snohomish County 911 received a report of a vehicle that had driven into Lake Stevens at the North Cove boat launch.
Snohomish County Deputy Wheeler and a Lake Stevens Police Officer Lanto, who were in the area, responded immediately upon hearing the call.
They arrived on the scene and quickly entered the water, dove down, and pulled the victim to the dock.
Shortly before the victim was recovered, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (SRFR) medics and divers arrived and began performing CPR while preparing the victim for transport.
An SRFR swimmer also dove down to ensure there were no additional victims in the vehicle. SRFR medics and EMTs were able to restore a pulse on the victim, who is a woman in her 70s, before transport to a local hospital.
The circumstances of how the vehicle entered the water are currently unknown. The vehicle was submerged about 20 yards from the boat launch.
The woman was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Her current condition remains unknown at this time.
