It’s time for the annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat event at Everett Mall, but this one might be different. With the future changes at Everett Mall, if the event continues, it will likely be very different.
Here’s what Angelique Ashton, Everett Mall’s Marketing Manager, had to say:
“Because of the nature of what’s happening to the mall, it may in fact be the last time that we’re able to do the event big and we wanted to make it as great as we possibly can. We are bringing in lots of community partners, non-profit groups and local businesses to help us activate empty spaces in the mall for the day.
Here’s what to expect:
- Trick-or-Treating at all stores plus roving “Candy Queens.”
- Meet the Wizard of Oz at The Emerald City Athletic Club.
- Live Performance by Evergreen Community Orchestra
- Monster Hunt Nerf Blaser Activity hosted by Planet Play Mynd Lab
- Pop-up Spaces from various groups
- Games
- FacePainting
Some of the groups hosting spaces in the mall that day will be: Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County, Imagine Childrens Musuem, Lynnwood Hilton Garden Inn, Chick-Fil-A, The Alzheimer’s Association and ChildStrive.
There are plans in place to provide sticker badges of teal and blue pumpkins signifying if a child either may struggle with verbalizing “trick-or-treat” or needs non-candy treats, and there will be a designated quiet area for those who many need a break away from the activity.
The mall is hosting a Big Top Circus on Halloween week. It will feature American Crown Circus. In addition to their regular performances, they will be on site and some of their cast over to greet families as they arrive for trick or treating.
Angelique adds:
“This property has been a central gathering place for the community for fifty years and we are optimistic to watch it continue to be that, keeping up long standing traditions after its upcoming transformation, even if those traditions look a little different in the years to come.”
