Everett Public Schools proudly announces that 49 students earned the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma™ and 38 students received the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ for the 2023-24 school year. Through a rigorous, project-based curriculum, this prestigious program enhances students’ critical thinking, research, and presentation skills.
“I am incredibly proud of our AP Capstone students for their outstanding achievements,” said Everett Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ian B. Saltzman. “Their hard work, combined with the dedication of our teachers, has equipped them with invaluable skills for their future academic and professional endeavors.”
The AP Capstone Diploma requires students to score 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and four additional AP® Exams. With over 100,000 students participating globally, these programs are instrumental in preparing students for college and beyond.
Executive Director of College & Career Readiness and Extended Learning Options Jeanne Willard added, “The AP Capstone Diploma and AP Seminar and Research Certificate empower students to develop critical thinking, research, and communication skills essential for college and beyond.”
The College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program offers students a chance to tackle college-level coursework while still in high school. It provides benefits such as college credit and advanced placement and better prepares them for higher education.
