Police Standoff With Man Hunkered Down in Motel 6 in Everett

There’s a man, possibly armed, who is hunkered down in the Motel 6 on 128th Street in South Everett. The man has a 3-year-old with him.

At 9:50am on Wednesday July 31st, police responded to a 911 call reporting an “assault with weapon.” Everett Police, South County Fire, and a SWAT team plus crisis negotiators are speaking with the suspsect.

The suspect is a 48-year old man believed to be armed who barricaded himself in the room with a woman and 3-year-old child. The woman safely got out of the room.

The child is believed to be related to the man. The woman who escaped was not shot or injured. People who were staying at motel 6 were evacuated.

5pm Update: As of 5pm Sheriff Deputies and SWAT remain on the scene negotiating with the suspect.

Midnight Update: At midnight the 48-year-old suspect exited the room and surrendered. The 3-year-old child is safely with law enforcement. The suspect is in custody and will be booked into jail.
