The Henry M. Jackson High School robotics team, Team 2910: Jack in the Bot, repeated last year’s performance at the prestigious Indiana Robotics Invitational (IRI) with a first place for the second consecutive year.
Competing against some of the nation’s top robotics teams, Team 2910 showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and innovation. The team clinched the win in a thrilling finale emerging victorious in their third final match by a razor-thin margin of just 2 points.
If you aren’t familiar with these competitions, they involve building advanced robots capable of executing difficult maneuvers that often involve collecting and placing difficult objects in a competitive environment. This years competition had squishy rings that needed to be collected, tossed, and placed into certain areas. The rounds start with an autonomous mode, followed by manual operation.
Jack the Bot’s repeat victory at IRI stands as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, mentors, and supporters of the Henry M. Jackson High School robotics program.
Team 2910’s success was boosted through a powerful alliance with some of the finest teams in the competition. The alliance included the alliance captain OP Robotics, Team 2056; second pick S.P.A.M. Robotics, Team 180; and third pick The Highlanders, Team 4499. This formidable alliance demonstrated remarkable synergy and strategy, culminating in their well-deserved victory.
The IRI is known for its high level of competition and is considered one of the most challenging events in the robotics calendar. Winning this competition for the second year in a row underscores the strength and excellence of Team 2910 and the robotics program at Henry M. Jackson High School.
Team 2910: Jack in the Bot has a strong history of success in robotics competitions, and this latest win adds to their impressive track record. The team is already looking forward to future competitions and continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in robotics.
