Park District Development Greenlit By City Council

The Everett Housing Authority received a green light to develop their property in the Delta Neighborhood at last night’s City Council meeting.

In particular, the street vacation, an ordinance relating to the Park District, a planned development overlay, and development agreement were unanimously voted “yes” by the City Council.

Expect to see 12-story buildingsĀ  in the Delta Neighborhood with underground parking and commercial space, as well as permitted parking in the area.

Residents and the city council seemed very happy with the way the project evolved to meet the needs and desires of current residents. This project is a great first step to address the housing crisis in Everett.

Mary Fosse, who will be able to see this development outside her kitchen window, had this to say:

“I feel like this has been such a wonderful example… I really hope my colleagues see all the efforts and the conversations and the collaboration and reward this kind of stakeholdering with support of this project because it was an effort that was a big feat.”

Council President, Don Schwab, had this message for the Everett Housing Authority:

“You have done a great job in putting this together. If this works, which I think it will, you will put yourself on the map, You will put Everett on the map. This is an amazing opportunity.”
