More than 30 Snohomish County women spent the weekend climbing ladders, handling hoses, forcing doors and learning the basics of emergency medical care during the Future Women in EMS and Fire workshop June 22nd and 233rd.
More than 70 women applied for the workshop, which was offered for the first time in Snohomish County. This event was designed by women for women, to actively recruit females to the fire service.
Attendees enjoyed hands-on demonstrations and were able to network with women firefighters and paramedics from agencies across Snohomish County, including:
- Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue
- South County Fire
- Everett Fire
- Marysville Fire
- Tulalip Bay Fire
- Sky Valley Fire
