Pedestrian Hit By Amtrak Train Near Harborview Park in Everett

Area where the train vs pedestrian collision occurred.

Everett Fire and Police responded to a passenger train vs pedestrian fatality collision around 5:50pm, June 3rd, near the train tracks below Harborview Park at 1621 W Mukilteo Blvd. in Everett.

We received confirmation that Amtrak train #8 struck the pedestrian (it was originally thought to be the 4:30 Sounder as it was reported as a commuter train).

Sound Transit’s commuter train had a 30-minute delay for the #1706 train that usually departs Seattle at 5:35pm.

It remains unclear if the pedestrian was suicidal or the collision was accidental. Statistics indicate accidental pedestrian train accidents often involve drug or alcohol use.

If you are in crisis, please call, text or chat with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988, or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741.
