The City of Everett has opened the public comment period on a proposal to rename a portion of Trojan Way, which runs along the east side of the campus at Everett Community College in north Everett, Washington to “Officer Dan Rocha Way”.

Officer Dan Rocha was killed in the line of duty on March 25, 2022. Chief Dan Templeman and the Everett Police Department requested the renaming of the 1000 block of Trojan Way as a tribute to Officer Rocha and a review process is now underway.

The City of Everett’s Historical Commission coordinates the public review when the renaming of a street is proposed and is providing notice subject to Review Process V procedures. The Historical Commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to City Council.

Public comments are being accepted through September 22nd and a public hearing is set for September 26th in the 8th floor hearing room at the Everett Municipal Building.
