A person riding a Community Transit bus was stabbed in the back of the neck and transported by medics to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington during the Wednesday evening commute.

The attack happened at Pacific and Broadway shortly after 5:00 PM. Immediately after the stabbing the suspect got off the bus and was reported to possibly be heading to the area of Everett Station.

Everett Police responded initially to the 911 call and located the victim on the bus. Medics from Everett Fire were called and transported the victim. Additional officers and deputies flooded the area and a K-9 track and drone were used to try and locate the suspect but as of this writing (8:15 PM) the suspect had not been located.

Because the assault happened on a Community Transit bus the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.

An SCSO spokesperson told MyEverettNews.com Transit Deputies are working on getting surveillance video to try and identify the suspect.

The suspect and victim are not believed to be known to each other and the attack appears to be random. The victim’s injuries were described as serious.

This is an active investigation.
