Overnight Fire Damages Duplex In South Everett

Initial Report 2:30 AM: Just after 1:00 AM Sunday morning Sno911 received multiple calls of fire coming from a duplex in the 11500 block of Meridian Avenue South in south Everett.

Crews from both Everett Fire and South County Fire responded with Engine 11 from South County reporting smoke and flames coming from one of the units.

Fire was spreading from one unit to the other and a second alarm was called bringing in additional fire crews.

It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to completely extinguish the fire. There were no injuries to the residents or firefighters but the duplex suffered heavy damage.

At this writing an Investigator from Everett Fire is working to determine the cause of the blaze.

Everett Fire reports nine people are displaced as a result of the fire.

One cat died and another is missing.
