Driver In Stolen Truck Creates Havoc Near 41st And Rucker

A man reportedly driving a stolen truck smashed into police cars, a pole and other vehicles before running away on foot Saturday morning near 41st and Rucker in Everett, Washington.

It took about 45 minutes, but with the assistance of a K-9 unit from Lynnwood PD the man was taken into custody about two blocks from the crash site.

Around 9:40 AM Saturday morning Everett Police received a call from someone who reported finding their stolen truck in the Safeway parking lot at 41st and Rucker. It appeared as there was a person asleep in the truck.

As Everett Police officers were arriving, the suspect in the truck woke up and rammed patrol cars and a pole in the store parking lot to get away and then headed out onto 41st street where he was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of 41st and Rucker.

Witnesses reported he ran off through the Chevron parking lot towards Hoyt. Fortunately there were no injuries in the crash.

Additional units responded along with a K-9 from Lynnwood and a drone from Mountlake Terrace. Neighbors in the area advised patrol officers of sightings of the suspect who was taken into custody after being located by the K-9.

As of this writing the suspect was being transported to the hospital to be checked out before being booked into the Snohomish County Jail on multiple felonies.
