After a break due to the Pandemic, the Jim Brauch Memorial Fishing Derby for kids age 4 to 14 is back at Silver Lake tomorrow (Saturday May 13th) from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

The Everett Steelhead and Salmon Youth Organization was established in 2011, as a 501(c)3 non profit, by Jim Brauch, a retired Everett Police Officer and avid fisherman.

The organization sponsors fishing events with volunteers from the Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club teaching children how to fish. The derby used to be known as the fish-in but is now named in honor of Mr. Brauch who passed away in 2015. Here’s what you need to know.

She’s not completely sure what to do next.

Kids, many of them for the first time, will be catching fish at Silver Lake in south Everett tomorrow between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM at Thornton A. Sullivan Park.
The event is for kids between the ages of four and fourteen and there is no cost.

If you have gear bring it but if not there will be a limited number of poles available.

Are you a parent but don’t know anything about fishing? That’s okay, volunteers from the Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club will be on hand to help the kids catch a fish.

Pre-registration is not required this year.
