Saturday night a Muay Thai Northwest Regional Title Fight tops the 10-bout card at All-City Fight Night – The Comeback. This is the second time All-City Fight Night has been held in the new APEX Art & Culture Center in downtown Everett, Washington.

The first event happened on December 10th of last year as more than 300 people watched ten matches featuring competitors ranging from amateur to experienced with PNW sanctioned kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts. There was also a performance by the Massive Monkeys Breakdancing Crew from Seattle.

This Saturday night they take it up a notch with the main event featuring a Muay Thai Northwest Regional Title Fight. Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand, sometimes referred to as Thai boxing. It’s a combat sport that uses stand-up striking and different clinching techniques but fighters are not allowed to take the fight to the ground. Competitors use a combination of fists, elbows, knees and shins.

In addition to the title fight there are nine other matches featuring men and women battling not only in Muay Thai but also Kickboxing and Glory Kickboxing Rule Sets.

At intermission there will be a demonstration of Capoeira, a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance presented by Capoeira Malês, a community run non-profit organization dedicated to individuals changing their lives while participating in Brazilian traditions and arts.

APEX Art and Culture Center is in the historic Masonic Temple/Knights of Columbus building at 1611 Everett Avenue in downtown Everett, Washington. You can wear jeans and t-shirts or dress up for date night. If you’ve never been to a mixed martial arts event this is a great place to see your first fight night.

Lily Mays, from Snohomish, was a first-time spectator at the event last December. “I didn’t think fights were going to be my thing, but I was surprised at how much energy there was in the room, and how fun it was to watch martial arts,” Mays said. “I like the environment in APEX, the food and drinks are really good and it’s truly unique with the art and architecture.”
