Rollover Semi Trashes Northbound I-5 On-Ramp In Everett, Washington

Editor’s Update 3:30 PM: Per WSDOT the ramp is back open!

The semi rolled around 11 AM.

It was hauling garbage to the rail yard in north Everett, Washington.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

The truck was back on its wheels around 1:30 PM.

Right around 11:00 AM Thursday morning a semi travelling from westbound Hewitt Avenue Trestle to northbound I-5 rolled on the ramp and spilled its load of garbage. Part of the semi-trailer was hanging over the railing, which was was heavily damaged.

Trash spilled from the semi and concrete crashed onto Everett Avenue below the onramp.

According to the Washington State Patrol the driver suffered minor injuries.

Everett Avenue was shut down between Walnut and the northbound I-5 onramp as the crew from Dick’s Towing was called out to right the semi.

Everett Fire Department’s Ladder 1 assisted Dick’s in making the truck stable and the semi was back on its wheels around 1:30 PM but the ramp and roadway below remained closed for cleanup and inspection of the damaged overpass.

At this writing no time given for when the ramp and roadway below will reopen.
