Jury Selection To Begin In Trial of Man Accused Of Killing Everett Police Officer Dan Rocha

On Monday pre-trial motions were being heard before Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Bruce I. Weiss at the County Courthouse in downtown Everett, Washington as trial is about to begin for the man accused of killing Everett Police Officer Dan Rocha nearly one year ago.
At Monday morning’s hearing the defendant was present with two attorneys. There were three members of the Prosecution team. Both sides argued in front of Judge Weiss a number of motions regarding evidence they wanted admitted or excluded at trial.
On Tuesday, Jury selection is slated to begin. The trial is estimated to last four weeks or more. The courtroom is open to the public but there is not expected to be a livestream of the proceedings available for remote viewing.

Everett Police Officer Dan Rocha was killed in the line of duty on March 25, 2022.
Dan Rocha was 41 years old and left behind a wife and two sons.
He began as a parking enforcement officer for the City of Everett in 2017 and became a commissioned Police Officer with EPD in 2018.
