This past weekend, officers responded to a South Everett residence after receiving reports of a male in his 20’s who had assaulted his mother and neighbor before arming himself with a knife. Probable cause was quickly established for Domestic Violence Assault and Assault.
When officers arrived, the male charged at them with the knife. Having been prepared, officers deployed non-lethal tools which stopped the male from advancing. The male continued to make threats to harm or kill officers on scene while holding the knife.
Eventually, the male put the knife down and engaged in dialog with responding officers and a negotiator. Officers were able to take the male into custody, without injury, after a brief struggle.
The responding officers showed great restraint and patience during this incident while de-escalating a volatile situation. Outstanding job by everyone involved!
