Everett Police Investigating Early Morning Fatal Crash On East Marine View Drive

Editor’s Update 12:00 PM: Everett Police have confirmed they have made an arrest for suspicion of vehicular homicide involving alcohol or drugs. The person was booked into the Snohomish County Jail and is expected to make an initial court appearance at a Probable Cause hearing tomorrow afternoon.

8:15 AM Report: Shortly before 4:00 AM Monday morning police in Everett, Washington were called to a crash in the 700 block of East Marine View Drive. Arriving officers found a single vehicle in the southbound lanes that was heavily damaged.

One person was outside of the vehicle and another inside.

Officers began live-saving measures on the person found outside of the vehicle and called for medics.

That person appeared to be the passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second person was the driver who was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center.

Both directions of E. Marine View Drive were shut down between Riverside and 10th street as detectives with the Everett Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit investigated the scene.

The northbound lanes of E. Marine View Drive were reopened shortly after 8:00 AM. As of this writing the southbound lanes are still closed.

Everett Police Public Information Officer Ora Hamel tells MyEverettNews.com detectives are looking at DUI as a possible contributing factor.
