February 23, 2023

Police Blotter

Police do not believe the shots were related to either school.

While not directly related to either location, Hawthorne Elementary and Everett Community College went into a brief lockdown Thursday afternoon following reports of shots fired in the area of 10th and Poplar in north Everett, Washington.

An Everett Police Spokesperson tells MyEverettNews.com around 1:30 PM Sno911 received reports of shots coming from the area of 10th and Poplar.

Arriving officers found one vehicle hit by gunfire. No one in the vehicle was injured. Patrol officers collected evidence from the area for further processing.

Both schools went into lockdown out of an abundance of caution and that lockdown was lifted after about ten minutes.

Everett Police are maintaining a presence around the neighborhood this afternoon as kids get out of school.

Everett Police are reviewing video from the neighborhood and ask anyone with information to call their tip line at (425) 257-8450.
