Naval Station Everett Prepares For Two Week Training Exercise

If you live near Naval Station Everett here’s a heads up on lots of training activity at the base over the next two weeks.

Training will happen February 6th – 17th.

Naval Station Everett and other Northwest Navy bases will participate in an anti-terrorism exercise called Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2023 (CS/SC 23) February 6-17.

Exercise CS/SC 23 is an annual exercise conducted in the continental United States by all Navy installations under U.S. Fleet Forces Command and Navy Installations Command. For the Navy’s regional announcement of the exercise, see the attached release.

At Naval Station Everett, the following activities are planned:

On Feb. 7 between 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
– Mass warning announcements
– Blank gunfire on base and close to the harbor
– Active vehicles responding around the base and in the harbor

Throughout the week of Feb. 13-17 between 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
– Mass warning announcements
– Intermittent gate closures
On Feb. 14 between 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
– Mass warning announcements
– Blank gunfire on base and close to the harbor
– Simulated explosions on base and close to the harbor
– Active vehicles responding around the base and in the harbor

These training exercises maintain and improve security and emergency response qualifications in preparation for a real emergency.
