Everett Police arrested the man yesterday at gunpoint near 10th and Broadway after spotting him in a car near the scene. Officers report recovering a handgun covered with blood from the car.
According to probable cause paperwork filed by Everett Police the man was reportedly being evicted from his north Everett residence by his son. When the son got to the home, he found the two cats had been violently killed and the man was not there.
A bit later an Everett Police officer spotted the man driving on Broadway and officers performed a high-risk stop. The man was cooperative with officers and taken into custody.
In the probable cause paperwork an officer wrote that after waiving his rights, the man told officers he killed the cats because he did not want to have to deal with trying to get a new residence with them.
The Probable Cause hearing is set for 1 PM this afternoon. The man is currently in the Snohomish County Jail on $10,000.00 bond.
