Northbound Lanes Of Evergreen Way Closed As EPD Investigates Serious Injury Collision

Editor’s Update 01/09/2023: This afternoon the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office released the following: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 38-year-old male who was involved in a pedestrian versus motor vehicle collision near Evergreen Way and Ttereve Drive in Everett, Washington on December 30th, 2022. The decedent is Daniel F. Martinez Gomez of Everett, Washington. The cause of death is blunt force injuries. The manner of death is Undetermined.

Editor’s Update 11:50 PM: Everett Police say this was a hit and run where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which then fled the scene. The pedestrian was a man in his 30s and did not survive. Detectives continue to investigate.

The collision happened in the 7100 block of Evergreen Way.

Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit of EPD were called out to investigate.

Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit of Everett Police are investigating a serious injury collision in the 7100 block of Evergreen Way.

It happened about 7:30 PM in the northbound lanes of Evergreen Way. One person was transported by Everett Fire Medic Unit to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington with life-threatening injuries.

At this writing detectives were just starting their investigation and details were unavailable.

All northbound lanes were shut down and traffic was getting by in both directions using the center lane and one southbound lane. No word on when the lanes will reopen.
