Everett Police Public Information officer Ora Hamel tells MyEverettNews.com the department is still investigating all aspects of the shooting and there has been no determination if it is connected to gang activity.

The Regional Violent Crime Reduction Unit that was formed in August of this year is looking into the case as are officers with the Gang Unit and the Anti-Crime team. That’s in addition to detectives with the Major Crimes Unit.

Hamel says E.P.D. is using overtime funds to add extra patrols to the area around Lions Park and down to Beverly Boulevard and the investigation is a high priority for the department.

Anyone with information is still asked to call the Everett Police Tip Line at (425) 257-8450 or Crimestoppers.
