Editor’s Update 9:30 AM: Everett Police this morning confirmed the person inside the vehicle was a male who had been shot. The case remains an active investigation. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death and identity of the victim.
Shortly before 8:00 PM Friday night an Everett Police officer reported hearing gunshots in the area of 75th and Evergreen Way.Soon after, Sno911 received reports of gunfire in the area of Lions Park near 75th and Olympic Drive. Within a minute came a report of a rollover vehicle crash in the yard of a home near 75th and Beverly Boulevard.
Officers arriving to the crash scene found a vehicle on its side with one person inside. Medics were called and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Other officers responding to 75th and Olympic Drive found multiple shell casings on 75th street. Additional shell casing were found in a parking area of the park.
Both Beverly Boulevard and 75th streets were closed as Major Crimes Detectives were called out to investigate exactly what happened.
Detectives worked through the night until around 6:15 AM before opening 75th street back up after gathering and processing evidence.
At daylight Everett Police patrol officers were scouring the neighborhood for additional evidence.
