In probable cause papers police wrote the suspect had searched for news reports just after the crime and downloaded photos from at least one news article to his phone.

On Monday afternoon an Everett District Court Judge found probable cause to hold a suspect in a murder back on September 18th on $1 million dollars bail. On Friday November 4th, the 27-year-old man was arrested by Everett Police Major Crimes detectives and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

In probable cause papers, Everett Police wrote the suspect is believed to have gone into a residence in the 3200 block of Wetmore Avenue in downtown Everett and shot 22-year-old Naej Belledent of Everett.

Belledent was found in bed with the suspect’s ex-girlfriend and had suffered multiple gunshot wounds at close range according to detectives. The ex-girlfriend was not injured.

Detectives wrote the suspect had a history of cyberstalking the ex-girlfriend and had also been suspected of dealing drugs.

Everett Police investigated the crime for more than a month until making an arrest last Friday.

Major Crimes detectives used video, cell phone records, vehicle records and interviews with multiple people to make their case for an arrest.

It’s now up to the Snohomish County Prosecutor to file charges within three days or release the suspect from jail.
