Back in August we introduced you to John Carswell and his family who have purchased the historic Masonic Temple/Knights of Columbus building at 1611 Everett Avenue. (Known most recently as Club Broadway) The Carswell family is transforming the building into an urban art museum and event center.
While the full building won’t be open until sometime in early 2023 the Everett Music Initiative and Apex Art and Cultural Center have announced a weekend of live music this month to show off one of the music venues inside.
Here are the details provided by Ryan Crowther.
Everett Music Initiative and APEX Art and Culture Center have announced the debut of Kings Hall, APEX’s largest music venue with a two-night launch party featuring Hell’s Belles and Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles on November 18 and 19, respectively.
In May, John Carswell, purchased Everett’s former Club Broadway, a historic building located in downtown Everett at 1611 Everett Avenue, and APEX Art and Culture Center was born.
Days later, Carswell announced the Center was building a museum to showcase the Dog Town Collection, the largest graffiti and urban art collection in the world, as well as creating spaces for music, arts and entertainment events in its multi-venue complex.
Today, APEX and EMI announced tickets are now on sale for Kings Hall’s two-night launch shows in November.
“Although we’re deep in the transformation of one of Everett’s historical spaces, we couldn’t resist bringing people in for a fun weekend of music,” said Carswell. “Downtown Everett has been incredibly welcoming, and we’re excited to add to the growing arts and music community, while creating a safe space the community can enjoy.”
On Friday, Nov.18, the opening night will feature Hell’s Belles, the all-female, globally recognized AC/DC Tribute Band. For more than 20 years, and thousands of shows, Hell’s Belles has been serving up an all out rock-n-roll assault and the most authentic AC/DC show you can find without traveling back in time to the original band’s live shows in the 80’s. The doors will open at 8pm and tickets can be purchased online at everettmusicinitiative.com for $25, or at the door for $30.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, America’s first all-female Mariachi band will headline the night. Established in 1994, Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles has recorded three albums, shared the stage with world-renowned musicians like Vicki Carr, Guadalupe Pineda and Lucha Villa, and performed for some of the world’s highest profile celebrities including Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, and Barack and Michelle Obama. The doors will open at 8pm and tickets can be purchased online at everettmusicinitiative.com for $25 or at the door for $30. Both shows are 21 and over.
