City Council Considers $1.5 Million For 6 Public Restrooms In Downtown Everett, Washington
From a presentation to the Everett City Council earlier this year.
Using money from the American Rescue Plan Act and Snohomish County the City of Everett intends to install six restrooms in four locations around downtown Everett, Washington.
It is a project that has been talked about for several years and will now move forward if council grants final approval in a vote scheduled for November 16th. (Wednesday night was the first of three readings of the ordinance)
The financing is a combination of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in the amount of $1,250,000 in addition to a Snohomish County Interlocal Agreement (ILA)
contribution of $250,000 for a total of $1,500,000.
The locations proposed for the restrooms are:
Clark Park north of downtown, Everett in the 2400 block of Lombard
Next to the City Municipal Building in the 2900 block of Wetmore
At Everpark Garage in the 2800 block of Hoyt
Outside Cope Gillette Theatre across from FUNKO HQ in the 2700 block of Wetmore
Current City of Everett Parks and Recreation staff will be tasked with maintaining the restrooms which they already do at parks and other public areas in the city.
