Cops Seize Half Million Dollars From Alleged Drug Dealer Operating Near Airport Road & Highway 99 In Everett, WA

Tuesday, the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force announced the arrest last week of a 46-year-old man for suspicion of drug dealing and announced the seizure of stolen property, fentanyl, vehicles and cash. The task force says they believe the man is responsible for a large portion of drugs being sold and used in the area around Airport Road and Highway 99 in Everett, Washington. Officers from multiple agencies have been targeting that area for months. Both Everett Police Chief Dan Templeman and Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney say there is still more to be done to make that area of south Everett safer. Friday night a man was shot to death outside a convenience store at that same intersection. Here’s the press release and photos provided by the task force Tuesday.
 

On Friday, September 16, the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force arrested a 46-year-old man for possession of M30 Fentanyl pills with intent to deliver. The suspect was contacted in a parking lot in the 11200 block of 4th Ave W. and taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, the task force recovered approximately 150 M30 pills, drug packaging, a digital scale and a large amount of suspected stolen property. The task force also recovered an estimated $524,000 cash in proceeds from drug dealing. Following the arrest, two of the suspect’s vehicles were seized. The 46-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail. This remains an active investigation.

Since April of this year, the Sheriff’s Office, the Everett Police Department and the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force have been focused on targeting and reducing criminal activity near Airport Rd and Hwy 99 in south Snohomish County. Over the past five months, deputies and officers have made thousands of contacts, written over 150 citations, and made over 360 arrests in this area. The Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force has also seized numerous firearms, drugs and impounded several vehicles involved in criminal activity.

This arrest is the culmination of a months-long investigation by the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force into those pedaling fentanyl to the most vulnerable in our population. The 46-year-old suspect is believed to be responsible for a very large portion of the drugs being sold and used in this area.

“Addressing the ongoing crime and quality of life issues impacting our community in this area has been a top priority for the Everett Police Department,” said Everett Police Chief Dan Templeman. “Combining our outreach and enforcement efforts with the Sheriff’s Office has led to improved conditions, but also a recognition that more work still needs to be done. While the data will show many arrests over the past several months, our goal continues to be implementing strategies that will lead to long term positive change in this area. This requires more than just law enforcement intervention, but also the support of our community, social service organizations and other stakeholders willing to partner with us to improve the conditions for those suffering from behavioral health issues as well as those who own and frequent businesses in the area.”
