One Dead After Shooting At Residence In Downtown Everett

Editor’s Update 9/22/2022: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 22-year-old male who was shot near the 3200 block of Wetmore Avenue in Everett, Washington on September 18th, 2022. The decedent is Naej Belledent of Everett, Washington. The cause of death is gunshot wounds. The manner of death is Homicide.
Editor’s Update 5:20 PM: Wetmore has been reopened. Major Crimes Detectives continue to investigate. No new information has been released. Anyone with information can call the EPD Tip Line at (425) 257-8450.

Wetmore is shut down between 32nd and 33rd.

Initial Report as of 8:00 AM Sunday:

Major Crimes Detectives with the Everett Police Department have arrived on scene in the 3200 block of Wetmore Avenue in downtown Everett where on person was reportedly shot and killed this morning.

The investigation is just getting underway.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting around 7:20 AM. Arriving Everett Police officers found one victim who had been shot and began emergency first aid.

Medics were called but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wetmore is closed between 32nd and 33rd and that will remain the case for several hours.

Again the investigation is just getting underway. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
