A look at the damaged building with burning material inside.

About 7:15 PM Sno911 began receiving reports of a column of smoke coming up from an area between Everett and Marysville west of Highway 529. Everett and Marysville Fire Departments responded to Cedar Grove where a metal building that contained organic material caught fire.

When the roof burned off the building a column of black smoke could be seen for miles. That dispersed and white smoke billowed from the burning material for several hours.

Everett Fire says there were no explosions and no injuries. Because of the location of the fire tenders were brought in from neighboring agencies to help provide water. Employees of the plant used heavy machinery to break up the material.

Crews were expected to be dealing with hot spots for several hours.
