Everett

While it may take a bit of time to develop, the Everett Public Library is getting a grant to bring some of Everett, Washington’s history to life with virtual reality. Here’s more.

Virtual Reality in 360 Grant

The Everett Public Library has been awarded a Virtual Reality in 360 grant from the Washington State Library. This grant program provides tools and specialized training to create a virtual experience. The library’s history specialist will be working on a project in partnership with Granite Falls Historical Society and Historic Everett over the next year to use VR technology to bring archival photos and stories alive. At the conclusion of the project, the library will have the knowledge and equipment needed to create virtual reality experiences for our community.

While you can’t explore historic Everett in virtual reality just yet, you can explore archival photographs and other northwest history resources through the Library’s Digital Collections. Or, make an appointment to visit the Northwest Room in person.
