Woods Coffee is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and this summer they will enter the Everett market with their first-ever drive-thru only location.

The Whatcom County based coffee company first announced plans to come to Everett last year as the anchor tenant in the Port of Everett’s Port Gardner Landing retail complex at Waterfront Place. That’s the site of the former historic Weyerhaeuser building before it was moved to Boxcar Park in July of 2016.

While that was the first site Woods announced for Everett, Washington it turns out their second site will open within a couple of months.

That location is at the intersection of Evergreen Way and Everett Mall Way in south Everett. It will sit between a new Sonic Drive-in and Glint Car Wash. All three businesses are currently under construction.

We had a chance to speak with Ryan Spiker, director of Brand and Culture for Woods Coffee about the new location.

“During Covid all of our locations operated as drive-thru only and we became very good at providing our unique coffee experience to drive-thru customers,” Spiker told us. “We’ve developed this new concept, it’s efficient and laid out really well so we’ll test it out in Everett to see if we can maintain our quality and service in a smaller drive-thru only footprint.”

Spiker says they hope to open the end of August or first part of September and are currently looking for employees. He says they are looking for great people who are outgoing and have a passion for other people. Here’s a link to their employment page.

“Woods Coffee is about more than the drink or fresh baked item,” he said. “Our customers want to be valued and seen and the coffee is just the icing on the cake after the people and experience in our stores.”

Here’s a video to give folks in Everett a better idea of Woods Coffee and the experience people can expect.

Woods Coffee’s location at the Port of Everett will be a full 2000 square foot indoor and outdoor building with a drive thru. “The name Woods fits in nicely with Everett’s history,” Spiker said. “We’re looking forward to accommodating the military professionals next door at Naval Station Everett as well as the people coming across the Grand Avenue Park Bridge down to the Port.”

That location is expected to open in the Spring of 2023 along with a new Sound to Summit Craft Brewery next door. As far as something he suggests people try that is unique to Woods Coffee, Spiker recommended the Mudslide or the Avalanche from their blended drink menu.

With locations stretching from Whatcom County down into King County, two stores in Everett, Washington make strategic sense for Woods Coffee, filling in gaps and allowing them to maximize their delivery process.
