Plans for the space had been in the works on and off for five years according to Holly Gardner of the Schuster Group who is developing the project.
In August of last year the Port announced Woods Coffee (who have nearly two dozen locations between Bellingham and King County), would be taking two thousand square feet of space in the five thousand square foot project.
In February of this year Sound to Summit Brewing announced they would be taking the other 3000 square feet of space.
There are two buildings connected by an outdoor courtyard. The building’s design is set to reflect the maritime history of the area along with a nod to nearby Naval Station Everett.
Doug Milner, one of the co-owners of Sound to Summit said they were excited to create a real community gathering spot and may try to incorporate Woods Coffee into one or two of their craft brews.
Ryan Spiker of Woods Coffee said they were looking forward to finding ways to work together with Sound to Summit and made a toast to the future serving the Port, Navy base and surrounding community.
Port of Everett CEO Lisa Lefeber told those gathered that Woods Coffee was the first business to say okay and commit to investing at Port Gardner Landing.
Both businesses are expected to open in the Spring of 2023.
