Firefighters had to cut open several of the garages to gain access.

The fire was in a row of 10 garages.

One of Everett’s newest firefighters was on the first arriving engine.

Firefighters cut a vent hole on the roof.

A row of trees caught fire and threatened a nearby strip mall.

A firefighter pours water on the back of the garages.

The strip mall was protected by the second-arriving engine crew.

An Everett Fire Inspector starts his work.

An Investigator with Everett Fire is on scene where multiple attached garages were damaged or destroyed by fire late Wednesday morning. Fire crews were called just before 11:30 AM to the Woodbrook Apartments near 7th SE and 112th SE in the Silver Lake neighborhood.

As the first Engine approached the scene they saw a heavy column of smoke and upgraded the call to a confirmed commercial fire which brought additional mutual aid from South County Fire and Snohomish Fire and Rescue.

The first engine responded to the front of the garages while the next engine worked to keep the fire from spreading to the strip mall behind the complex. A row of trees was on fire and threatening the building which houses several businesses.

Firefighters cut many of the garages open to get to the flames and also cut holes in the roof to vent out smoke and heat.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Here are some photos from the scene. Click photo to enlarge.
