“I grew up in Yakima and Chehalis but have always been drawn to the Puget Sound,” Wynn told us. “Everett had what I was looking for.”
Samuel Wynn is not only a veteran but also a full time single parent to a 10-year-old boy on the autism spectrum. While a ‘big guy” himself, he named the shop after his son. “He’s the original Big Guy,” Samuel said.
When asked what got him interested in framing Samuel told us that ever since he was kid he’d been a collector and has been gathering photos and prints but didn’t like scrapbooks and photo albums. As he got older he decided he hated bare walls in his house and had been taking things to a framer for more than a decade before he decided this is what he wanted to do when he retired from military service.
“When you help somebody design their vision it’s the greatest feeling,” said Samuel. “To see the look on their face for something I did for somebody, when they see the final product and they so appreciate it, that’s just fantastic.”
Samuel is a veteran and takes special pride in helping veterans and their families properly display their military awards, citations and medals.
“Hey we also frame needlework,” he added with a smile.
