Suspect In Lexington Murders May Have Also Committed Shooting On Colby

Editor’s Update 5:10 PM: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified the two people killed in the shooting on Lexington Avenue Monday. Here’s what was provided via social media Wednesday afternoon.

SCMEO completed the exam & confirmed the ID of the 48-year-old male who was shot near the 2000 blk of Lexington Ave in Everett, WA on June 20th, 2022. The decedent is Anthony W. Burnett of Everett, WA. COD is a gunshot wound. MOD is Homicide. The other victim per SCMEO is a 44-year-old male, Anthony R. Jolly of Everett, WA. COD is a gunshot wound. MOD is Homicide.

Editor’s Update 1:05 PM: Everett District Court Judge Tam Bui has found probable cause to hold the suspect on $5 million dollars bail on suspicion of two counts of 2nd degree murder and 1 count of 1st degree assault. Prosecutors have three days to file formal charges or release the suspect.
 

The suspect was arrested sitting in the driver’s seat of this truck Tuesday afternoon.

Last night Police in Everett, Washington booked a 25-year-old suspect into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of two counts of 2nd degree murder and one count of 1st degree assault in connection to a triple shooting Monday afternoon in the 2000 block of Lexington Avenue.

In paperwork establishing probable cause for the suspect’s arrest, an Everett Police Detective noted that the suspect had been arrested in a stolen truck and police recovered a stolen .45 caliber gun from under the seat where the suspect had been sitting at the time he was contacted by officers Tuesday afternoon.

The detective wrote that shell casings found at the scene of a shooting near 44th and Colby on Sunday morning (6/19) were the same make as found in the stolen gun. There were also .45 caliber shell casings found inside the home on Lexington where the triple shooting occurred on Monday (6/20).

There is reportedly surveillance video of the truck in the area of both shootings.

The suspect is expected to make an initial appearance at a probable cause court hearing in Everett District Court this afternoon.
