Two people have been fatally shot according to Everett Police Monday afternoon. Here’s Everett Police Public Information Officer Kerby Duncan with the initial report.
This was in the 2000 block of Lexington in the Pinehurst neighborhood. Everett Police have streets in the area closed and are expected to be at the scene for several hours. More details to come.
Everett Police and Fire crews rushed to the scene after multiple people were reported to have been shot.
Detectives with the Major Crimes unit have started an investigation and are expected to be in the neighborhood for hours.
Editor’s Update 6:00 PM: Everett Police say at this time the suspect in the shooting is at large. The report of a shooting came in around 4:00PM from a home in the 2000 block of Lexington Avenue. Arriving officers found one man with a gunshot wound and got him out of the house and in care of medics. He was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center. Everett Police entered the home and found two other men down inside who appeared to have been shot. They tried life-saving efforts and brought in medics from Everett Fire but both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives with the Everett Police Major Crimes Unit are on scene and will be getting a warrant to process the scene are are expected to be there several hours. At this time no description of the suspect has been released and police are checking neighborhood cameras and talking to witnesses.
