The thief left the car and the child was unharmed.
As the thief took off in the car he apparently noticed a 3-year-old in the back seat and stopped the car with the child inside within a block of where it was taken.
The child was recovered safely and quickly reunited with their parent.
Everett Police assisted by Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies quickly responded. A K-9 search of the area did not turn up the car thief.
This happened about 20 minutes after that double-murder in central Everett. Police are processing the scene for evidence and checking for surveillance video.
