Everett Marine And Specialty Units Join Regional Response For Missing Diver

Editor’s update 5:00 PM: At about 4 PM the U.S. Coast Guard announced they have suspended their search for the missing diver after covering over 100 square miles during the search.
1:00 PM Initial Post: For more than three hours assets of all types have been scouring the water off Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo after a diver was reported missing. Mukilteo Police report that around 9:30 AM they had contact with a diver who said the person he was diving with did not surface and was missing. Mukilteo Police began searching the immediate area. A Marine search was launched by Mukilteo Fire with mutual aid from the Everett Fire Department with drones, boats and rescue swimmers. The U.S. Coast Guard responded with three vessels and a helicopter. Marysville Police and Mountlake Terrace Police sent drones and operators. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Dive team responded along with a boat from South County Fire. As of this writing the search continues with the Coast Guard handling the primary duties on the water.
