May 15, 2022

Everett Fire

Initial Report Sunday May 15 12:30 AM:

Smoke pours from the roof vents and open front door.

A backup crew from Engine 2 enters the business.

Firefighters from Station 5 including one of the department’s newest members in yellow helmet work on the roof.

May be the last fire call together for this father-son duo as Ed Ferro (l) gets set to retire next week. Son Jake (r) will carry on.

About 11:20 PM Saturday night Everett Fire crews were called to Bao Boss Sandwich Shop in the 2800 block of Hewitt Avenue for reports of smoke coming from the building.

The first in Engine reported heavy smoke and upon entry into the building confirmed fire in the kitchen area.

Firefighters were able to get a quick knockdown on the fire and kept it from spreading to buildings next door.

An investigator has been called to the scene to determine a cause. There were no injuries.
