Sharing Wheels Puts Out Call For Volunteers

May 5, 2022

Everett

Sharing Wheels is looking for volunteers to help meet their goal of 40 bikes to go to refugee families. Here’s more on who they’re looking for.

Kids spending summer days on their bikes is an American tradition. Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop wants all kids to feel that freedom.
Volunteers are needed to help fix at least 40 kids bikes for refugee families from Afghanistan and Ukraine. Volunteer repair parties are being hosted at the bike shop in Everett every Tuesday night through June 14, as well as on Sunday afternoons and a few Thursday evenings.
No bike repair experience is needed, just a willingness to get greasy. Volunteers who keep coming back will learn some basic mechanical skills and be connected to a community of people who care. Snacks are provided.
Groups and families are welcome to attend together. Please RSVP in advance on the Sharing Wheels calendar at: https://sharingwheels.org/events/
Sharing Wheels is located 2531 Broadway Ave., Everett, just north of the QFC. Parking and entrance are at the back of the building.
Refurbished bikes will be donated to Afghan and Ukrainian immigrants through SCM Medical Missions, and to local children referred by schools or nonprofit partners.
Sharing Wheels will not be hosting a Kid Bike Swap in 2022.
