A heads up for those who drive 529 between Everett and Marysville as Everett Utilities work to repair a water line starting this week.

Work on the Tulalip Water Pipeline Repair Project near the state Route 529 off-ramp is set to start on Wednesday, April 13, which will result in ramp and lane closures on Smith Island through April 29. The state Route 529 offramp north of 36th Place NE will be closed between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, resulting in detours via northbound SR 529 and 28th Place NE. The ramp will be open to drivers on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Drivers should expect delays along Frontage Road into 34th Avenue NE and 36th Place NE where there will be one lane of alternating traffic with flaggers. While the ramp will be open to drivers on Fridays, there still may be flaggers along the roads in that area.

Ramp and lane closures were put in place to allow the City’s contractor to safely repair the Tulalip Water Pipeline. The repair project began in February and focuses on repairing the joints, connections between pipes, on the water pipeline.
