Return Envelope Shortage Hits Another Utility

April 5, 2022

Everett Utilities does have other payment options.

In February of this year Snohomish PUD launched a program to have more people pay their power bills online as they couldn’t get enough return envelopes to send with the billing notices. That same issue is now happening to the City of Everett, Washington Utility Department. Here’s a notice put out today by the City.

Everett Utility is experiencing a disruption in its envelope supply chain and may not be able to provide return envelopes in some utility bills because of a nationwide envelope supply shortage. The supply issue is a consequence of pandemic impacts to labor and materials. “While we are doing everything we can to obtain more envelopes, it is unknown how long the envelope supply shortage will last or continue to effect Everett,” said Kevin Barnes, Everett utility services supervisor. “We appreciate our customers’ patience and ask for their help dealing with this inconvenience.”
