Naval Station Everett as seen from Grand Avenue Park

Just a heads up to those in and around Naval Station Everett that it could get a bit noisy Wednesday and Thursday as they hold another training drill. Here are the details.

Naval Station Everett will be conducting a training exercise at the Everett main base on March 23-24. The exercise is scheduled to occur on both days between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Gates may be closed for brief 5-10 minute periods throughout the exercise.

Those nearby may hear mass warning announcements and blank rounds used to simulate gunfire. They may see active emergency response vehicles around the base and boat activity in the harbor.

The Navy regularly conducts training exercises to maintain and improve security and emergency response qualifications. These exercises help prepare for a real emergency and enhance coordination with mutual aid partners.
