More than 10,000 people lined the streets of downtown Everett for the last parade in 2019.

The Seattle Cossacks were a big hit in the last 4th of July Parade in 2019.

Wednesday night the Everett City Council approved a $75,000.00 contract for a fireworks show on the 4th of July.

However due to budget issues there will not be a 4th of July Parade this year.

The parade was cancelled the last two years over the Pandemic and budget concerns. Here’s the explanation for this year, received via email from Julio Cortes with the City of Everett.

“Due to budget constraints enhanced by the pandemic, the parade is not in the budget at this time. We may be able to revisit it in the future. That being said, the City is planning a really fun 4th of July Festival at Legion Park.”

There will be some great bands doing live music, a beer garden, food trucks, kids games and more.”

“We do also have Fresh Paint and Sorticulture coming to downtown this year so it should be a fun summer for our community and visitors.”
