Everett Police Investigating Fatal Incident On Evergreen Way

Update 8:00 AM: The northbound lanes of Evergreen Way in south Everett, Washington between Center Road and 112th SW have reopened after being closed since shortly after 5 AM as Everett Police investigate a fatal incident.
According to Everett Police Public Information Officer Kerby Duncan investigating detectives believe just after 5 AM and man and woman were on the sidewalk in the 11300 block of Evergreen Way and were involved in some type of argument.
The woman walked across the street away from the man, who tried to follow after, stepping into the path of a northbound car.
The man died at the scene and the driver of the car is talking with Everett Police traffic safety unit detectives.
The early indication, it does not appear the driver did anything wrong. Detectives continue to investigate.
At this writing the northbound lanes are still closed, traffic southbound on Evergreen Way not affected.
