Wrong Way Driver Kills Two On I-5 South Of 41st Street In Everett

The Washington State Patrol says they’ve arrested a 22-year-old Everett man for suspicion of vehicular homicide after he reportedly drove northbound in the southbound lanes of I-5 early Saturday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 1:00 AM as the wrong-way driver went head-on into a car occupied by a Lynnwood couple who were southbound on I-5 just south of 41st street.

The couple, both in their 60’s died at the scene while the causing driver was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center.

Once released from the hospital he is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail. WSP listed the cause as DUI and wrong way driving.
