A look at the fire from the Lowell Snohomish Road on the west side of the river.

As darkness fell the fire could be seen clearly from Lowell and the northbound lanes of I-5.

The home was a total loss.

Initial Report 7:05 PM: Shortly after 3:00PM Wednesday Everett Firefighters joined crews from Lake Stevens, Snohomish and Getchell after calls came into Sno911 of a house on fire on 41st Drive SE which is next to the Snohomish River on the east side of the river from Everett.

Arriving units found smoke and flames coming from the home with the fire spreading up into the attic.

Crews were able to complete a search and found no one in the home.

The owner was reportedly out of town visiting relatives.

Firefighters moved to a defensive position due to the danger to crews who remained outside of the building.

Tenders had to shuttle water to the fire scene as there are no hydrants near the home.

Fire got into the roofing supports and eventually the roof collapsed with the home looking to be a total loss.

At this writing firefighters have been on scene for four hours as they protect nearby structures. An investigator from the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene looking to determine the cause of the fire. The house sits on Department of Natural Resources land. There were no injuries.
