A look as fire crews began overhauling the fire unit.
Initial Report 11:50 PM: Shortly after ten o’clock Thursday night a neighbor living to the west of Motel 6 at Evergreen Way and 100th street in south Everett called 9-1-1 reporting seeing flames from inside a room on the second floor of the Motel. Soon other calls followed with reports of fire in at least one room and people evacuating.
The first in Engine reported smoke showing from the building and the call was upgraded to a confirmed commercial fire with Engines and crews from Everett Fire responding with South County Fire providing mutual aid.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a couple of rooms but there was smoke damage to multiple rooms and ceiling was pulled from several areas to make sure the fire had not extended into the attic or roof.
At this writing an investigator with the Everett Fire Marshal’s office is on scene working to determine the cause of the fire. There were no injuries.
We’ll provide any updates as they are made available on Friday.
