Everett Firefighters + Sprinklers Contain Apartment Fire Near Silver Lake To One Unit

Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke on the third-floor landing.

The crew from Engine 7 was first to arrive on scene.

One of Everett’s newest firefighters has debris washed off after exiting the fire unit.

Crews bring up squeegees to remove water after the sprinkler system activation.

Initial Report 1:30 AM:

Shortly before midnight Monday night Snohomish County 911 received multiple calls of a fire in a third-floor unit at an apartment complex in the 12200 block of 19th Avenue SE south of Silver Lake.

Everett Fire responded along with mutual aid from South County Fire and Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue.

Everett Fire Engine 7 was first to arrive and reported smoke coming from the third floor. They also advised the sprinkler system had been activated.

They made an offensive attack and were able to get a quick knockdown of the fire keeping it contained to one unit.

Residents of the building were able to safely self-evacuate. One person was transported by ambulance to be checked out at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this writing crews were mopping up water damage and an inspector with Everett Fire was onsite working to determine the cause of the fire.
